This Privacy Policy explains how MedBill Insight collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the App.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the information you provide directly, such as your name and email address when you create an account, and the documents you upload for analysis (medical bills, insurance statements). We also collect basic usage data, such as which features you use, to help us improve the App.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to provide the AI analysis you request, respond to your questions in AI Chat, manage your subscription, and improve the App's reliability. Your uploaded documents and their contents are never used to train AI models.
3. Data Storage and Security
All documents and account data are encrypted at rest and in transit. We use bank-level security practices across our systems to protect your information from unauthorized access.
4. Data Retention
By default, documents and analyses are retained for 90 days, after which they may be automatically deleted. You can adjust this in Profile → Settings, or delete any document immediately at any time.
5. Your Rights and Choices
You can delete any individual document and its analysis permanently at any time from within the App. You can also delete your entire account from Profile → Delete Account, which permanently removes your documents, analyses, and account information.
6. Third-Party AI Providers & Other Services
MedBill Insight's AI features are powered by two third-party AI providers, and we tell you which one before any of your data is sent to it. Bill photos and PDFs you upload, and the messages and bill details you send in AI Chat, are sent to Google (Gemini) to generate the analysis or reply. Voice recordings you make to ask a question are sent to OpenAI (Whisper) to be transcribed into text. These providers are bound to data-protection commitments comparable to our own and do not use your data to train their models. Using these AI features requires your separate, explicit consent within the App (shown at onboarding or before first use), which you can review or withdraw anytime from Profile → Privacy → AI Data Sharing. We also use Apple and Google to support sign-in and to process subscription payments through the App Store and Google Play. These providers have their own privacy policies governing the information they collect.
7. Children's Privacy
MedBill Insight is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes within the App.

Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of MedBill Insight (the "App"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. What MedBill Insight Does
MedBill Insight uses artificial intelligence to help you understand medical bills and insurance statements you upload. It provides plain-English explanations of charges, flags items that may be worth reviewing, and suggests questions to ask your provider.
2. Not Medical, Legal, or Insurance Advice
MedBill Insight provides educational information only. It is not medical, legal, or insurance advice, and it does not replace consultation with your healthcare provider, insurer, or a qualified professional. Decisions about your care, coverage, or finances should not be based solely on the App.
3. Your Account
You must provide accurate information when creating an account and are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You must be at least 18 years old to use MedBill Insight. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
4. Uploading Documents
You may only upload documents that belong to you or that you are authorized to share, such as your own medical bills or those of a dependent in your care. Do not upload documents belonging to other people without their consent.
5. Subscriptions and Billing
MedBill Insight offers a free plan with limited monthly analyses and a Premium subscription with additional features. Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, renew automatically unless cancelled, and are subject to those platforms' own terms and refund policies. You can cancel anytime from your device's subscription settings; access continues until the end of the current billing period.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse the App, including attempting to reverse-engineer it, interfere with its operation, or use it for any unlawful purpose. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
7. Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, AI models, and content, is owned by MedBill Insight and its licensors. You retain ownership of the documents you upload.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is." AI-generated explanations may contain errors or omissions. We do not guarantee that any billing issue identified by the App is accurate, complete, or will result in a refund or correction from your provider or insurer.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, MedBill Insight is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including decisions made based on its output.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
